Phoenix, Arizona: For 35-year-old Amanda Rogers November 10 was supposed to be a happy day. She was putting up Christmas decorations and a holiday spirit permeated her home as she probably smiled at the thought of her children and husband and the Christmas they were about to share together.

Little did she know, that heading towards her home was an out-of-control vehicle. Minutes later the quiet neighborhood near 67th Avenue and Beardsley Road erupted in sound and tragedy as a car smashed into Amanda's home. A few days later, mother of two, succumbed to her injuries.

According to police, a woman in her 20s, accompanied by two passengers, was driving at a high speed when she lost control of her vehicle, which smashed into the Rogers family home. Detectives suspect impairment may have been a factor in the crash, though no arrests have been made at this time.

"This is a very complex case with many pieces of evidence and moving parts," police state, explaining the delay behins filing any charges at all. However, authorities expect an arrest within the coming week.

One of Amanda's friend told Arizona's Family: "You expect to feel safe in your own home. To have something like this happen is just heartbreaking for everyone."

Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation of the crime scene (pictired) to ensure all evidence is reviewed before filing charges.

Neighbors and friends have rallied around the Rogers family, expressing shock and grief over the incident. "They are a young family with small children," one supporter told Arizona's Family. "With the holidays coming up, any help anyone can provide would mean the world."

Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to ensure all evidence is reviewed before filing charges. "We want to make sure the investigation is complete," a police spokesperson said, adding that the severity of the charges will likely increase now that Amanda has passed away.
