Buckeye, Arizona: Buckeye has begun accepting applications for the 2024-2025 Non-Profit Community Funding Program. These grants are available to non-profit agencies who provide services specifically to Buckeye residents, and impact them directly. Applications received will undergo a technical review for completeness and accuracy and are selected based on the level of services the non-profit agency provides to Buckeye residents, while addressing essential community needs. Following the initial review, a sub-committee will review each application and make recommendations based on criteria including:

The direct impact to Buckeye residents

The demand and service needs of the organization and community

If past recipient, impact and effectiveness of previously received funds and compliance with reporting requirements

The Non-Profit Community Funding Program seeks to fund programs that fall within the following priority categories which includes:

Families in crisis

Mental health and substance abuse, prevention and early intervention

Low/moderate income individuals and families 

Senior programs

Homeless assistance

Special needs support

Youth programs

What are the eligibility requirements and guidelines?

All organizations must serve residents in Buckeye.

All applications must be complete prior to submitting and received by deadline: Friday,

August 9, 2024 by 5pm.

Applications will be accepted only from non-profit corporations.

Applicants that received funding in previous years must submit closeout report on previously awarded funds.

Applicants may apply for more than one program, however each program requires a separate application.

Organizations must comply with all appropriate federal and Arizona State Constitutional requirements on the use of public funds, particularly prohibiting funds being used for personal benefit or lending funds to a private entity.

If selected, applicants may be required to present how the awards were used during a city council workshop, council meeting, and/or to the Non-Profit Community Funding Committee.

All unexpended funds must be returned to the city of Buckeye within 30 days of the closeout report.

No funds can be expended until funding is approved by City Council and awarded to the organization.

Funds cannot be used for expenses incurred prior to funds being awarded.

What programs have been approved so far?

Here are the Nonprofit Community Funding Program grant applications that have been approved and awarded for Fiscal Year 2024.

All Faith Community Services ($25,000) for emergency food assistance to those at risk of food insecurity

Buckeye Police Foundation ($12,000) for crime prevention, homeless aid and support for victims of domestic violence and crime

Youth4Youth ($10,000) for school drug and alcohol prevention program implementation

Southwest Lending Closet ($6,500) for lending home health equipment free of charge to anyone in need

Homeless Youth Connection ($5,000) for engaging with youth experiencing homelessness

AZ Community Impact ($5,000) for providing beds to children in need

Sounds of Autism ($5,000) for purchasing uniforms, marketing awareness supplies, transportation fees and development of curriculum

Village Community and Recreation Center ($5,000) for establishing a downtown community garden

Mission of Mercy ($3,000) for healthcare to uninsured Buckeye residents

SCOSIC Meals of Joy ($2,500) for meals for seniors with medical conditions or in poverty

American Legion Aux Unit 53 ($1,000) for sponsoring candidates to attend Girls State.
