Phoenix, Arizona: Porter Airlines has launched a new service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). This daily, non-stop flight connects Canada’s largest city with one of North America’s most popular getaway destinations.

“This inaugural flight from Toronto to Phoenix builds on Porter's growing Western US presence. Our unique approach to economy air travel is something that Arizona will welcome, as we continue delivering on our promise of making flying better,” said Kevin Jackson, president, Porter Airlines

Chad Makovsky, aviation department director, City of Phoenix, emphasized Canada's importance as an economica partner for the state.

The route is also a massive bom for Arizona's booming tourism industry. "Porter Airlines’ new route from Toronto to Phoenix is a tremendous opportunity to showcase Arizona as an all-season destination to Canadians," said Lisa Urias, director, Arizona Office of Tourism.

"With over 300 sunny days a year and average winter temperatures in the 70s, our state offers the perfect escape for Canadian travelers seeking warmth and adventure. This new connection enhances access to Arizona's world-class resorts, outdoor recreation, and diverse cultural experiences, reinforcing our state’s position as a top destination for Canadian visitors.”

Canada is Arizona’s number one international investor and number two destination for exports, and $3.8 billion worth of annual two-way trade. "This route will support the more than one million people that travel between Canada and Arizona every year for business, tourism, academic and cultural collaboration, along with visits to family and friends,” said Zaib Shaikh, Consul General of Canada from Los Angeles.
