From calling the US a 'garbage can' to asking Jimmy to 'get off his a**', Trump rages through his endgame
Tempe, Arizona: Former President Donald Trump returned to Arizona, a key battleground state, as he campaigns intensively in the final stretch of the 2024 race.
Addressing a crowd of roughly 5,000 at Tmpe's Mullett Arena, Trump reiterated key issues central to his platform, rallying his supporters with his signature promises to "Make America Great Again".
This was Trump’s second rally in Arizona this month. In his hour-long speech, Trump revisited familiar talking points that have resonated with his base. He emphasized his support for law enforcement, vowed to gradually eliminate taxes on Social Security, and touched on economic measures intended to alleviate financial pressures on working families.
But Trump also got into full-throttle mode when he referred to the US as a garbage can. “We’re like a garbage can, you know, it’s the first time I’ve ever said that. And every time I come up and talk about what they’ve done to our country, I get angry. First time I’ve ever said garbage can, but you know what, it’s a very accurate description.”
Trump also invoked the 'I-was-robbed-in-2020' ghost by saying the only way to prevent what he still percives as a stolen election is to win so big that it makes it "impossible to rig".
“We must defeat Kamala Harris and stop a radical left agenda with a landslide that is simply too big to rig,” he said. “And we’re doing that. We’re doing that, we’re doing that. If these numbers hold up, and they probably will, why wouldn’t they? Who the hell wants these people in office?”
He told female Arizona voters to to tell their husbands: “'Get your fat ass off the couch, you’re going to vote Jimmy, you’re going to vote, we’re going to save our country, Jimmy'."
Trump also gave a special shout out to Elon Musk: “Thank you, Elon, thank you. How good was his endorsement? I mean, his endorsement just kept coming. He said that we will not have a country if we don’t win this election. And he is a smart cookie.”
Trump returns to Arizona next week for an interview with Tucker Carlson on October 31.
