Gilbert, Arizona: The Gilbert Police Department has launched a new online reporting system, allowing residents and local businesses to file police reports from the convenience of their homes or mobile devices. This new platform, built on Versaterm’s Community Report technology, provides a secure and user-friendly way to submit reports for minor offenses and non-emergency crimes. The system is accessible through any web browser, available 24/7, and supports over 30 languages.

The online reporting system utilizes AI-powered virtual investigators to assist users in filing reports. These virtual investigators guide individuals through the process, asking relevant questions and adapting based on responses to ensure accurate and thorough reports. This technology simplifies the reporting process, making it more accessible and less time-consuming for residents.

Residents can report a variety of incident types through the online platform.

Residents can report a variety of incident types through the online platform, including criminal damage, hit-and-run collisions where the other party is unknown, harassment, various forms of theft, shoplifting, car and garage burglaries, fraud, graffiti, and child custody complaints. While the system is designed to handle non-emergency situations, the Gilbert Police Department advises that crimes currently in progress or those posing an immediate threat should still be reported by calling 9-1-1.

Once a report is submitted online, it is reviewed by the Gilbert Police Department, and a case number is emailed to the individual. If further information is required, a patrol officer or detective may contact the person who filed the report.
