JD Vance delivers 'nightmare fuel' as he slams Kamala Harris's record and bizarrely, her sporting ability
Peoria, Arizona: The 2024 elections are just around the corener and both campaigns are shifting into gears reserved for the home stretch. Last night, Ohio Senator and running mate of President Trump, JD Vance, visited Peoria.
Speaking to supporters in the West Valley, Vance emphasized the importance of voter turnout and touched on key issues like inflation, border security, and protecting social security.
"We need to take advantage of every opportunity to vote," he urged, reminding attendees to encourage friends and family to cast their ballots.
“Here’s the scenario that I want you to consider, and I don’t mean to give you nightmare fuel here, but I’m going to do it,” Vance said to the crowd in Peoria, Arizona. “We wake up on November the sixth, and Kamala Harris is barely elected president of the United States by a 700-vote margin in the state of Arizona. Think about that. And ask yourself what you can do from now until then to make sure it doesn’t happen.”
In his remarks, Vance also took aim at the current administration's handling of border policies and inflation, vowing to focus on lowering the cost of living for Americans. He stressed the need to protect social security, particularly for retired citizens.
Vance also faced questions from local reporters regarding Arizona’s election system. When asked if he trusted the state's election process and would accept the results, Vance replied, “Of course we will not get it perfect, but we are doing a hell of a lot better. The best message I can give is to get out and vote.”
Vance also went after Harris for “softball interviews” and her record as vice-president, saying he feels bad for Tim Walz, the Democratic vice-presidential nominee, because he has to defend Harris’s record. "The problem with the softball interview is that you still got to be able to hit a softball. And I don’t know if Kamala Harris could hit a tee ball,” said Vance.
Later, in Tucson, Vance said it must be hard for Walz to “try to convince people that Kamala Harris actually has ideas in her head for how to govern the United States of America”
Vance also invoked the story of US Marine, Nicholas Douglas Quets, who was killed in Mexico by suspected cartel members last week. He criticized the Biden administration for border policies but also for not reaching out to Quets’ family, who Vance said he talked to in Tucson. Vance added that he had told Quets’ family: “I promise you that the cavalry is coming and when Donald Trump is president, we’re going to kick the cartels’ asses, and we’re going to do it for you and for every person in this room.”
Vance was bullish when asked about mass deportations, questioning whether that would include Dreamers or other childhood arrivals. Vance replied that "the priority" was deporting violent criminals, but that wouldn't be the end zone.
“We also have to deport people, not just the bad people who came into our country, but people who violated the law coming into this country. We’ve got to be willing to deport them,” he said. “And by the way, of course you can be humane about this. You can be compassionate about this.”
