Meghan McCain goes the full Will Smith on Kamala Harris as she drops massive threat
Phoenix, Arizona: Meghan McCain has taken umbrage with persidential candidat e Kamala Harris after the VP claimed the late John McCain told her she'd "make a great senator". Harris was speaking at a Republicans for Harris rally in Scottsdale on Friday.
Harris said that she and McCain were "going after each other" during a committee hearing but later: "I step onto the floor of the well of the Senate later that day — we had votes — and I passed by John McCain, and he looks at me, and he says, 'Kid, come over here. You're going to make a great senator'. True story."
Her remarks prompted swift backlash from McCain's daughter Meghan, who channeled her inner Will Smith and demanded Democrats and harris in particular stop using her dad's name.
"I know democrats want to reinvent history and turn my Dad into any illusion you guys need him to be depending on the political moment you need to b*****dize his memory for," she said on X.
"But please don’t make me start sharing what I remember him ACTUALLY saying about Kamala Harris. Consider this my final warning shot, I will start spilling tea," she warned.
The McCain family, however, seem split on the virtues of Harris in the White House. In September, the late senator's youngest son Jimmy, said he is voting for Kamala Harris.
"I feel that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz embody a group of people that will help make this country better, that will take us forward. And that's really what matters at the end of the day – voting with your heart, voting how you feel going forward, and that's how I feel," Jimmy told CNN.
Their mother, Cindy McCain, endorsed Joe Biden in 2020, despite his father's longtime Republican Party associations and stint as the party's 2008 presidential nominee.
