Mesa Youth Climate Action Fund is looking to Gen Z to help save the planet, here's how you can apply
Mesa, Arizona (Release): The Mesa Youth Climate Action Fund is providing funding for youth-led projects that deliver practical climate solutions to challenges faced in Mesa. The funding ranges from $1,000 to $5,000.
Who can apply?
Applying groups must have three or more applicants, with the majority being between the ages of 15-24 years old, who reside in, attend school in, or whose initiative directly benefits the community of Mesa.
What are the Mesa's most urgent climate needs?
The most immediate identified needs are Heat Mitigation, Water Stewardship, Clean Air, and increasing Mesa’s shade tree canopy.

Each application much include:
Project Advisor: A project advisor must be an individual 18 years or older and associated with an organization such as a school or university, a 501c3 organization, Limited Liability Company (LLC), Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) or other similar organization.
Project Description: A brief overview of the proposed project, including its objectives, beneficiaries, and anticipated outcomes.
Timeline: A timeline indicating key milestones and the expected duration of the project. All projects must be completed by December 30, 2024.
Budget: Detail the anticipated expenses associated with the project (Request for funding can range from $1,000 - $5,000).
Climate Action Plan Alignment: Explanation on how the project aligns with Mesa’s Climate Action Plan.
Supporting Documents: Any additional materials that can strengthen your application. These can include, but are not limited to, budget outline, letters of support, or supplementary video.
When is the deadline for applications?
Applications opened June 1 and will close on July 31, 2024. Selection and notification will take place no later than August 15, with project funds distributed between August and September. The project completion deadline is December 30, 2024.
