Night Howls: MCACC announces dates for extended hours at shelters to promote adoption
Phoenix, Arizona: Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (MCACC) has revealed the dates for their Night Howls adoption event. Maricopa County residents can visit their shelters after hours on July 24 and 31 to adopt a new furry friend. Both its West shelter at 2500 S. 27th Avenue and its East shelter at 1920 S. Lewis will be open until 8pm for adoptions only.
“We're so excited to extend adoption hours so that all the ‘night howls’ in the county can find their dream pup,” said Communications Supervisor Kim Powell. “We understand it may be difficult to get here during a work week, so this will be a great opportunity to help potential adopters who can’t make our normal business hours find their forever friend--and then they can even spend the weekend together. Let’s make happy hour an adoption hour.”
Adoption fees for dogs six months and older will be waived during the Night Howls event, as it coincides with the 'Empty the Shelters' adoption event sponsored by the BISSELL Pet Foundation. Currently, there are more than 800 animals waiting to find their forever homes. MCACC is hopeful many dogs will find homes during the Night Howls Extended Hours Adoption Event.
