Queen Creek Mayor Julia Wheatley is now chair of the MAG Transportation Policy Committee
Queen Creek, Arizona (Release): Queen Creek Mayor Julia Wheatley has been appointed chair of the Maricopa Association of Governments Transportation Policy Committee. Mayor Wheatley has served on the MAG Transportation Policy Committee since 2022, most recently serving as Vice Chair in 2023-24. Wheatley also serves on the Maricopa Association of Governments Regional Council.
“The MAG Transportation Policy Committee oversees the development of the Regional Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Investment Plan and guides policy decisions related to transportation planning in the region,” said Mayor Wheatley. “At such an important time for Arizona transportation and infrastructure, I’m honored to serve and represent our Town as Chair of this Committee.”
In addition to serving as Chair of the MAG TPC, Mayor Wheatley was also recently appointed to serve as Chair of the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority Board of Directors.
What is the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG)?
For those new to Phoenix and Maricopa County, the MAG is a regional planning agency that serves the metropolitan Phoenix area in Arizona. Established in 1967, MAG plays a key role in regional planning and policy-making, particularly in the areas of transportation, air quality, human services, and economic development.
