Washington D.C.: An Associated Press-NORC poll has found that just 54% of Republicans think Trump is prioritizing correctly, while only 9% of independents agree. Recent polls have shown a growing disillusionment with Donald Trump’s presidency, even among some Republicans, as disapproval rises over his handling of issues like the economy, immigration, and trade. Surveys released this week show a majority of Americans describe his second term as “scary,” with only 24% believing he has focused on the right priorities.

A New York Times/Siena College poll shows only 43% approve of Trump’s economic management — a sharp drop from 64% in April 2024. Half of voters disapprove of his trade policies, and 61% oppose presidential tariffs without congressional approval.
