Study finds Arizona city is most pet-friendly in entire country
Scottsdale, Arizona: Scottsdale has been ranked as the most pet-friendly city in America according to an extensive survey carried out. The survey cites Scottsdale's high number of pet businesses and dog-friendly shops per capita as the driving factor for its ranking. But apart from that the city also boasts a number of spots you can catch a meal with your pet: In fact Scottsdale has the eighth-most dog-friendly restaurants per capita.
Scottsdale also makes owning a pet while renting a home easy. Nearly 98% of rental listings in the city allow pets, one of the highest percentages in the country. Homes in the city have a very high average square footage, at over 2,400 square feet, too, giving pets plenty of space to roam around.
And as far as walking your dog, or cat -- if you have nerves of steel -- nearly 27% of Scottsdale is parkland, the fourth-highest in the country, and the city reportedly has the third-best weather in America.
The rest of the top 5 were Tampa, FL; Las Vegas, NV; Birmingham, AL; and Lexington-Fayette, KY. The bottom five ranked cities were Honolulu, HI; Milwaukee, WI;
Durham, NC; and Boston, MA.
