Stunning 'Life Along The Gila' hike registrations open, don't miss it
Goodyear, Arizona: On Sunday, July 14, head out to Estrella Mountain Regional Park for the 'Life Along the Gila' trek with Ranger Kevin. During the trek you will learn the importance of rivers like the Gila to the health and diversity of desert life and explore the riparian habitat for plants and animals.
The trail is approximately two miles (3.2km) and rated as moderately difficult, with stretches of loose rock, deep and sandy soil, and large rocks and other obstacles. Also it is important to note that summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. Things to remember before hitting the trail
Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes
Bring plenty of water.
Hats and sunscreen are highly recommended.
