Phoenix, Arizona: It's official, Arizona is one of the US's hottest tourist destinations. In 2023, the state's tourism industry achieved record-breaking results, generating over $4.2 billion in tourism-related tax revenue, marking the first time it surpassed the $4 billion threshold. This was a 7% increase from 2022. Visitor spending also hit a new high, totaling $29.3 billion across the state, supported by both domestic and international visitors.

In terms of employment, the tourism sector contributed to the creation of 187,000 jobs, a 4.4% increase compared to 2022. The state saw a significant rise in international visitors, with overnight international arrivals growing by 20%, largely driven by tourists from Mexico, Canada, the UK, Germany, and France.

Tourism played a key role in supporting the state's economy, with tax revenues funding essential services like healthcare, transportation, and public safety. Additionally, tourism activities in Arizona reduced the tax burden on residents, with an average household savings of $889.
