Tools 4 School returns with new concepts and bigger than ever
Phoenix, Arizona: The Phoenix Tools 4 School event, Arizona's largest backpack and school supply giveaway, will return to the Travis L Williams American Legion Post 65 (1624 E. Broadway Rd.) on Saturday, July 27, from 7 to 9am. This year's event will feature a convenient drive-thru experience to better serve the community.
"By providing backpacks and school supplies to families in need, we help ensure that every child starts the school year ready to learn and thrive," said Alan 'AP' Powell, CEO of AP & Associates and founder of HeroZona. Celebrating its 12th year, this initiative is a collaborative effort among several community partners, including American Legion Travis L. Williams Post 65, APS, Arizona Diamondbacks, ASU, Crescent Crown, HeroZona Foundation, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, and SRP.
The event aims to alleviate back-to-school costs by providing free supplies and backpacks to all students from kindergarten through eighth grade. "Access to essential school supplies is critical for students' success, and the Tools 4 School drive plays a vital role in supporting our local community," emphasized Powell. "This initiative not only alleviates financial burdens but also empowers students with the tools they need to achieve their full potential."
Tools 4 School is open to the public and expected to attract thousands of families. Supplies are limited, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early, and students must be present to receive their backpacks and supplies.
"I’m looking forward to our 12th Annual Back to School Drive," said Aliyah Powell, HeroZona board advisor. "Growing up, we often relied on local back-to-school drives, so this initiative hits home for me. I am really happy to be a part of it and help set students up for a successful school year."
"We are honored to host and sponsor the 12th annual HeroZona Foundation Tools4School event," said Jarvis Reddick, commander of American Legion Post 65. "This initiative consistently makes a significant impact in underserved communities, providing essential support for school children."
