The 9 words that killed Kamala Harris's campaign and other skeletons revealed

Washington D.C.: Former Vice President Kamala Harris’s appearance on 'The View' just a month before the 2024 election became a defining misstep in her campaign — one that even her own team saw as a major blunder.
According to a new book, 'Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House' by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes, Harris’s inability to name a single policy difference with President Joe Biden left her top advisor, Stephanie Cutter, stunned.

When asked if there was anything she would have done differently than Biden, Harris paused, looked upward, and replied, “There is not a thing that comes to mind,” adding that she had been “a part of most of the decisions that have had impact". Cutter, a seasoned Democratic strategist who helped produce the last two Democratic conventions, later admitted privately, “What the hell was that? That’s not what we practiced.”
The moment effectively tied Harris even more closely to Biden, whose unpopularity had already forced him out of the race after his disastrous debate performance.
“It provided the money shot” for attack ads linking Harris to Biden’s policies, a Trump advisor told the authors.
The book also details other awkward moments, including a “cringe” video where Harris feigned surprise at receiving the Obamas’ endorsement. Yet 'The View' interview stood out.

The book also reveals that at the G7 summit in Italy preceding the infamous debate, a Biden aide told Parnes and Allen that they had to cover up the physical signs of Biden’s aging, a makeup artist met with him in the morning when he traveled. The artist also covered up aging signs before Zoom calls with his aides.
The book also reveals that after the debate with Trump, Biden needed fluorescent tape to guide him through a fundraiser at New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy’s (D) house and needed a teleprompter to speak to just a small group of people.
Allen and Parnes said, on Tara Palmeri's podcast 'Somebody's Gotta Win', that Harris and running mate Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota were completely taken aback when she lost to Trump.
"She was completely shocked, and Tim Walz was shocked. We take you inside his hotel room at the Mayflower, and he's sitting there stunned. He has no words," Parnes said on the podcast. "And people are kind of explaining to him, same thing with her. And she's like, are you sure? Have we done a recount? Should we do a recount?"
